"I'd be embarrassed if I left it laying around and someone found it."Show organiser Judy Taylor said she removed the books from the show bags yesterdayafter receiving a complaint."I couldn't believe it when I was told," she said."I had a sleepless night last night, I was up crying about it. I am really upset about it myself."We do these things in good faith to raise money for charity, we don't make any money out of it."First thing this morning when the security guards came down I told them that every book must come out of the bags."Ms Taylor said the books were given to Runaway Bay Shopping Village for a promotion."The first I saw of them was on Friday. They went into a gift bags that were sponsored by Runaway Bay Shopping Village along with some other vouchers and things like that."They told me they had Googled the book and thought it was OK so it went in."I am not a reader. Had I known what type of genre the author wrote I obviously would have checked it out more thoroughly."Runaway Bay Shopping Village did not respond to calls from The Bulletin yesterday.Mrs Briggs said 14-month-old Olivia loves being read but wouldn't be hearing a word from her new novel. That'll have to wait until she turns 21."I'm going to put it away for her 21st and write a note saying this was given to me at your first baby show," said Mrs Briggs.

IT'S a good thing little Olivia Briggs can't read otherwise her innocence would have been shattered by the sexually explicit novel that came in the show bag her mum was given at the Runaway Bay Shopping Village Baby Show over the weekend. The book, Tall Poppies, wastes no time getting down and dirty with page two containing explicit descriptions of a man masturbating.Olivia's mum Melissa Briggs said she was shocked when she discovered the steamy sex scenes inside the paperback by Louise Bagshawe."I just don't know what to say," she said."You would expect to get a book like this at Sexpo, not at the Runaway Bay Baby Show.Have your say on the feedback form below "It shouldn't have been given out at a baby show."Nobody did any due diligence to check what the content of the novels were, I find that disturbing."While she was shocked, Mrs Briggs said she was not offended by the naughty novel."In this day and age you've got to be pretty open, not many things phase me."But a lot of people would be offended by that.

It's a good thing little Olivia Briggs can't yet read.
